Nevery Lorakeet’s dreamy new Kira outfit for LpD inspired me to leave my dark studio for a prettier setting among the octopi at The Gallery Gift Shop. Available in the white version shown here and in sand, Kira combines a flounced lace-covered skirt with a crop top and lace gilet. It’s fresh and sweet, even though it does flash a bit of summertime flesh. Speaking of, Inka Mexicola’s creamy soft skins for Essences continue to thrill me. I can’t believe how lucky we are to be able to buy 70L skins bi-weekly at TDR Fusion. To round out Portia’s peaches and strawberries look, I treated myself to some hair by Tram. This ‘do appears very innocent, and yet I swear that I saw it in a manga frame. I believe it was meant to be the messy evidence of the heroine’s epic sexual adventures. I will see if I can find the pic to share it with you. No, really, it’s no trouble, no trouble at all.

Bela Tolsen always does jeans for her TuttiFrutti line, and her spring collection offers some sophisticated yet form-fitting takes on the old classic. In addition to a faded pair splotched with clouds and a light pair, she’s created the dark and flowered pairs Portia models today.
Since I am still planning to succumb to the Server Side Baking apocalypse, I’ve been feeling pressure to dress Portia in everything she’s not yet worn. That means finding some silly stuff in the closet. Do these puppets make me look fat?

I think of them as “my ladies”—the talented women who send me their creations so that I may share them with you. My ladies have been busy, so Portia is drowning in spring/summer wear, and I have blog posts planned through the end of next week. Yesterday, I showed you h.m.a.e.m’s new mod-inspired slim-fitting slacks. Today, Zib Scaggs of Zibska also recalls the 60s with her striped linen Chloe palazzo pants. In real life, I am short and dumpy but I can wear palazzo pants, so I think of them as the ninth wonder of the world. Zibska’s palazzos are big but sexy because they sit below the waist and curve elegantly around an av’s belly. The Chloe pants come with a coordinating halter top, but I didn’t want Portia to look too bare at this time of year, so she’s wearing a cutout crop top from Ozi. In addition to the aqua version shown here, the Chloe outfit is available in lime, white and gray renditions. One last note for today: Portia is wearing Margot, one of Glam Affair’s affordable skins for May’s Collabor88. I was chuffed to discover that the 288L pack contains the red-lipped glamorous look advertised on the vendor and a “clean” version of the skin, which offers a dewy daytime makeup with a pale lip.

Portia wears a swinging pair of low-slung trousers from Riri Ninni’s new Moddish outfit for h.m.a.e.m. The printed trousers and the sleeveless satiny blouse (not shown here) can be purchased separately and come in a range of colours including rose, orange, sky, yellow, white and black.

To be true to the mod era, I should have accessorized this look with flats, but who could resist Redgrave’s sexy new Helena shoes. I love Redgrave’s price point: for 690L you get a HUD with twelve colour choices.

I disappear and another woman shows up inside my body. This woman is aroused and wholly submissive. 21st century exodus

I have this mesmerizing metallic dress by Aliza Karu of [AD] Creations. I style it with some futuristic hair by Eshi Otawara. The dress falls to the knee and the dreads inch past it. It’s a swelegant combo and I’m excited to shoot it. I get one medium shot and Exodus crashes. I get a low-res test shot of the entire ensemble—including some boots I picked up on sale at SLink—and Exodus crashes. I log in while watching TV and Exodus crashes. I walk and chew gum at the same time and Exodus crashes. I coordinate my blouse with my pants and Exodus crashes. I eat meat and rice at the same meal and Exodus crashes. Like a little bitch. (I do not care for that phrase, but it fits.) It doesn’t want me making connections.
The next day I decide to make my pics extra spacey. I get one closeup of Portia on a fcking machine at Necronom VI and guess what? Okay, I don’t need to read the manual to know what to do. With Exodus, I mean, not the fcking machine. Stay focused on the fashion, people. Days later I finally get a chance to reinstall Exodus. I do it clean. Exodus crashes four times while my inventory loads. I backtrack to a version so primitive that it has no height offset. The thought of slidering to High and enabling Deferred Rendering sends me scurrying for my teddy bear. Which is long gone. I fear I may try to cuddle one of you if I go inworld again. I’m often tempted by Severed Garden’s adorable outfits, which always boast beautiful colour combos and loving attention to detail. Usually I resist buying because these ensembles look so much better on girlish bloggers than they do on Portia. A quick trip to Anatomy got me the button-cute av I needed to make the Fiona outfit work. (Btw, Fiona is insanely inexpensive.) One of the latest releases from Bamboo nails gives this look a high-fashion twist. RubyRedRusset’s Spring Orange can be worn with feathery white tips. They’re guaranteed to make you crave a Creamsicle.

Gala Phoenix of Curio skins is planning to retire all of her old skins as of May 4. I can’t decide whether I should retire them from my inventory. I certainly haven’t been willing to give up my Dutch Touch skins. But I always feel as though a blogger has to emphasize the new and available rather than follow her whims. On the other hand, Portia ain’t exactly a trendsetter, so why shouldn’t I follow my own muse?

It’s been a bad week for brains. They’ve been overtaxed. Now that I can feel my grey matter returning to its usual spongey and sproingy state, I am once again able to blog. The last day of the Fantasy Faire, an event raising money for cancer research, is Sunday April 28th. So you still have time to bounce over to The Plastik’s pavilion to buy Aikea Rieko’s new Draziirah skin. Draziirah has to be shot in bright light to show off the weirdly cracked chocolatey skin. The skin features a full-body vine tattoo which is sold in ten different colours, including silver, green, red, yellow, blue and purple. Portia is wearing Draziirah in one of the greens, Anjuna, which I’ve tarted up with HoD’s Lovely Disarray face tattoo and Electro Blue Neon Punk earrings. This is a brand new item available at The Gallery Gift Shop till mid-May.
Each Draziirah skin pack features a plain version of the skin and some extra mystical tats. I’ve used tats from two skins, Anjuna and Silver, to decorate Anorak’s beautiful bod. In addition to the elf ears shown here, the Drazira skin pack includes glowing eyes. Anorak’s classy Wasabi Pills hair, Erika, is also available at Fantasy Faire. This version of The Plastik’s Vexed dress was a gift, but there are plenty more patterns to choose from in the mainstore.
