Nevery Lorakeet’s dreamy new Kira outfit for LpD inspired me to leave my dark studio for a prettier setting among the octopi at The Gallery Gift Shop. Available in the white version shown here and in sand, Kira combines a flounced lace-covered skirt with a crop top and lace gilet. It’s fresh and sweet, even though it does flash a bit of summertime flesh. Speaking of, Inka Mexicola’s creamy soft skins for Essences continue to thrill me. I can’t believe how lucky we are to be able to buy 70L skins bi-weekly at TDR Fusion. To round out Portia’s peaches and strawberries look, I treated myself to some hair by Tram. This ‘do appears very innocent, and yet I swear that I saw it in a manga frame. I believe it was meant to be the messy evidence of the heroine’s epic sexual adventures. I will see if I can find the pic to share it with you. No, really, it’s no trouble, no trouble at all.

Break them in

Bela Tolsen always does jeans for her TuttiFrutti line, and her spring collection offers some sophisticated yet form-fitting takes on the old classic. In addition to a faded pair splotched with clouds and a light pair, she’s created the dark and flowered pairs Portia models today.
Since I am still planning to succumb to the Server Side Baking apocalypse, I’ve been feeling pressure to dress Portia in everything she’s not yet worn. That means finding some silly stuff in the closet. Do these puppets make me look fat?

Casual glamour

I think of them as “my ladies”—the talented women who send me their creations so that I may share them with you. My ladies have been busy, so Portia is drowning in spring/summer wear, and I have blog posts planned through the end of next week. Yesterday, I showed you h.m.a.e.m’s new mod-inspired slim-fitting slacks. Today, Zib Scaggs of Zibska also recalls the 60s with her striped linen Chloe palazzo pants. In real life, I am short and dumpy but I can wear palazzo pants, so I think of them as the ninth wonder of the world. Zibska’s palazzos are big but sexy because they sit below the waist and curve elegantly around an av’s belly. The Chloe pants come with a coordinating halter top, but I didn’t want Portia to look too bare at this time of year, so she’s wearing a cutout crop top from Ozi. In addition to the aqua version shown here, the Chloe outfit is available in lime, white and gray renditions. One last note for today: Portia is wearing Margot, one of Glam Affair’s affordable skins for May’s Collabor88. I was chuffed to discover that the 288L pack contains the red-lipped glamorous look advertised on the vendor and a “clean” version of the skin, which offers a dewy daytime makeup with a pale lip.

Fashion for Life ends this coming Sunday, March 17, 2013. I don’t know why you aren’t out dropping a mere 250L on this slinky floral number from Lucia Genesis of World’s End Garden. Or at the very least admiring some ginormous ancient male bods. (I confess to finding Zeus most attractive. First, he’s lit like an old-timey movie-star. Second, dude owns a throne. Third, a roomy lap and a divine hand give a girl ideas.)

Satisfaction

Last week I dedicated a post to Shortcake Sugarplum. She once told me that she liked my posts because they have a beginning, a middle and an end. (In that order. My posts don’t emulate Godard. Or the Portlandia parody of Godard.) It was good to know that someone felt satisfied by something I do. Especially because Ms. Sugarplum has long been satisfying my desire for elaborate eyelashes with her creations for Lucky #7. This is only fitting since she was the one who aroused that desire in the first place. When Ms. Sugarplum went on eyelash hiatus, I got to feeling that Portia was naked and exposed. Apparently this is a common reaction to Ms. Sugarplum’s phases of slothful indifference to the needs of our avatars’ eyelids. Think about it: without a thick slather of lashes an avi exposes her eyeballs to the harmful rays of the sun. And misses out on rare opportunities to bat something at attractive men. (Pretending to laugh at a hot guy’s jokes is even more painful when one’s eyeballs are sunburnt.) Luckily, Ms. Sugarplum is back to work. And for some strange reason, she named her latest pair of peeper keepers after my blog. All is forgiven, SS. For now.

My friend Sian Pearl had the nerve to name her devastatingly strict new collar after Portia. I knew that Sian would not be satisfied with a shot of Portia on her way to the opera in a floor-length mink topped with the collar. Even if the mink was dip dye. Not surprisingly, the collar recalled me to my kinky side (which I was keeping in a box with my crooked smile). Back when I was having SLex, I discovered that it was impossible to RP with a fashionable woman. When the man who had set up my first ménage à trois suddenly went AFK, my newbie imagination floundered. There I was in bed with a hot goth hermaphrodite (too many choices…), and all I could think about was her astounding pair of pointy patent-leather booties. Killed the mood, but found out about Bax.

The Portia collar is available in dark and light versions. It’s rigged mesh, but it’s also modifiable if you rez one on the ground: you can resize and tint it to your dom(me)’s content. The pack contains a version compatible with RLV and other scripts. I still don’t know what RLV stands for. Must be something technical, like rather large vag. [This pic looks lousy small. Hello earth

Time passes between shooting pictures, editing them and posting them. Occasionally I find myself posting pictures that feel stronger than I do at the moment of writing, that feel as good as I did at the moment of shooting. Today I haz a sad, so I won’t tell you how this pic revises the end of Anna Karenina. Devious Mind’s latest outfit is called Lady Vayne. If you can’t afford one of the versions from the regular line, you can play gacha for five special colours, with each play costing 150L. The black and red version, which I won first try, is supposed to be the rare colour, but I’ve seen it on other blogs. (Could Silvia Olivier be more gorgeous?) So I played again for you, my lovely readers, and I’m delighted to show you the ice-blue version. The outfit includes a bird-beaked mask not shown here. (I wanted my av to be pwitty.) If you’re a fan of Lolas and Glam Affair, you should pop down and pick up a skin applier, which Aida Ewing has made for each of the tones in her latest lines (Arctic, America, Europa, Jamaica, Africa). Each applier is 210L.

I admit it. I couldn’t get enough of the second season of The Hour. I loved seeing the Soho nightclub filled with showgirls and gangsters. But most of all I loved Ben Wishaw as Freddy. I may have mentioned before that I love a boyish Brit who looks like he needs a real woman to feed him. (By force, if necessary. With whipped cream, of course.) I also relish the sight of an intense, narcissistic actor playing beta male.
