Back on the rack

It’s time once again to slither off to The Gallery Gift Shop and stalk the art. This month, I took a fancy to Gabrielle Swindlehurst’s Doomsday Has Come and Gone, which looks good at any post-earthquake angle. Also at TGGS. Umeboshi offers a tattoo that multiplies your av’s eyes. (Just in case the apocalypse makes no sound.) In addition to pink hair and a silver tunic from the current Collabor88, Portia wears Dilly Dolls boots, a gift in the Twisted Hunt. The HUD gives you the choice of black or white leather as well as subtle variations on the fabric pattern, which is based on the dreaded TH box.
At the Skin Fair, I tried more skins than a hundred snakes could slough. But Nuuna’s Kati was the only one that inspired me to put clothes on Portia and send her back to the sim. Kati is a breath-takingly flawless blank canvas with all the tattoo-layer add-ons you could desire. In addition to crazy-colour lips like blue, orange and black, there are several shades of pink. Tintable eyebrows and a half dozen tintable blush tats allow for personalization. There is also an applier for Lolas Tango tatas, the mere thought of which makes me feel jiggly on my insides. All this costs only 400L. (If there’s a better deal at Skin Fair I will eat snake slough. With fries.) Portia wears the second-lightest of the seven Kati tones, meaning that goths and ghouls should be doing some kind of dance in honour of the first one. Last but not least today, Portia sports Shortcake Sugarplum’s latest creation for TGGS, the Vegas-worthy Diamond Spades Lashes. I have made special requests for diamond-spade pasties and piercings and a full deck of pornographic playing cards. But I do that every month.

It is with a heavy sigh—and a van-load of expletives—that I announce the imminent disappearance of Pleisure from the blogosphere. For quite some time I have been unable to upgrade to new versions of any viewer. Now with server-side-Easy-Bake-Oven about to debut, I will no longer be able to blog without buying a new computer, and a PC at that. It’s possible Pleisure will just go into a coma like Buffy did when she decided to give up fighting Glory. And a witch will come to the rescue. (Has to be a witch: the Mac geniuses know nothing about what one needs for SL.) Until the coma comes, I am going to share fashion stuffs with you, even if the pics I take are less than perfect. Sian Pearl has just released an Extreme Cyber HeadSet for MetaTheodora. There’s a version with a semi-opaque visor that is guaranteed to terrify spoiled blonde gods with bad taste in clothing. Portia pairs her headset with Epic’s Tango-friendly Slasher suit, which is available in multiple colours at a reduced price for a limited time at Bewbapalooza. This outfit inspired me to shop for neck corsets, so you may not see Portia’s lips before Easter, when the desire for chocolate will embolden her to meet the day in nothing more than a layer of Chap-Stik. One final note for all you space-girls: just because you don’t have gravity doesn’t mean you can’t defy it with some old-fashioned spiral curls. Get your Momo on at Whore Couture Fair 2.

Moonsrise

Aliza Karu makes me want to read. The Angels and Demons creator is collaborating with Libriamo Tutti to celebrate a different book each month. This month’s Booklook is inspired by Haruki Murakami’s 1Q84, which I now want to read. Ms. Karu’s gorgeous ensemble includes miniature versions of the two moons that shine over Murakami’s Tokyo. In this ensemble, they float over an av’s shoulder, set off by a transparent train that rises up instead of trailing behind. Check out Callie Oh’s classic pic for a better sense of the whole look.
I suspect that this is a wedding gown, but given my recent complaints about men, I choose to see Portia as some kind of wintry vengeance demon. A scorned woman’s wish is her command.

Glitzmas

One of the things I love about the Christmas season in SL is the glitz. You won’t see me wearing gold or silver with black in my real life. But Anorak can be as glam as she wants to be in her new skinny jeans, a classy take on a 21st-century trend from Bela Tolsen of TuttiFrutti.

We finally get a look at Dorothy, and she’s not ugly at all. Sopha Portal’s latest skin focuses on softly glimmering eye makeups and orange and pink lip colours.

For Dorothy, there are three caucasian skintones to choose from and eight makeups in each pack. All makeups come with teeth versions, and the pack includes a pretty shape not shown here. Cleavage is sold separately.

The Plastik has a ton of Xmas-themed clothing on offer this season, as well as a number of gift-givers for group members. The Daunting Fate corset worn here is a regular item, available all year round for ever and ever and ever.

Free ‘ween

I am still envious of other bloggers’ falsies, so I was excited to win one of Aikea Rieko’s Tomboy tees from the Halloween gift-givers at The Plastik. If you join the group, which is free, you can visit the shop once an hour and hit up the gifting pumpkins and treasure chests for Halloween-themed clothing, really scary skins, candy and a missile launcher loaded with cats (of course). There’s also lots of inexpensive Halloween clothing and accessories for the ladies. And some for men. On Halloween, Ms. Rieko will be in the store doing nice things to people who visit. Anorak wears her purple tee with a luxurious pale-pink leather skirt, new in mesh from Amarelo Manga. Her sweet-but-sexy hair is Wasabi Pills’ item at The Costume Ball. It’s unrigged mesh and features a colour-change bow.

This lovely skin is an open gift at JOMO. There is also a male version. Anorak’s festive jewels and nails are a VIP group gift from WTG. I am always shocked by the length of nails in SL. These deadly beauties made me change out Anorak’s top. I didn’t want her to accidentally puncture her balloonbies.
