Moonsrise

Aliza Karu makes me want to read. The Angels and Demons creator is collaborating with Libriamo Tutti to celebrate a different book each month. This month’s Booklook is inspired by Haruki Murakami’s 1Q84, which I now want to read. Ms. Karu’s gorgeous ensemble includes miniature versions of the two moons that shine over Murakami’s Tokyo. In this ensemble, they float over an av’s shoulder, set off by a transparent train that rises up instead of trailing behind. Check out Callie Oh’s classic pic for a better sense of the whole look.
I suspect that this is a wedding gown, but given my recent complaints about men, I choose to see Portia as some kind of wintry vengeance demon. A scorned woman’s wish is her command.

My pretties

I swear that someone somehow stole my blogging gene. I’m down to “system skirt bad; she pretty.” So I shall just say that I hereby offer you a shot of Aliza Karu’s tour-de-force Ania gown for AngelsDemons Creations. In addition to the dramatic cut-out back you see here, there are cuts in the front of the gown which make the dress look as though it’s independent of the body, not hung on it. Suvi Breil took a fabulous shot of the whole ensemble, from the front, because she’s a genetically sound blogger.
I am also featuring this beautifully ornate brooch, with optional stripe makeup, which is an Avenue Readers group gift in the A:S:S deLuxe shop at Zenshi. I like the look of the brooch on bare flesh, with its nasty screws set into Portia’s adamantium breast-plate. Portia is wearing MiaSnow’s unusual Sweety skin, a favourite of mine, in the Exotic tone. The Sweety skin comes with the lashes shown here, with eyebrows, a few lipsticks, and with basic options of cleavage and dimples on or off.

Her highness

The pleated, pearl-beaded collar of Aliza Karu’s new Hoci dress made me think of Elizabeth I. How the TV got into the picture is anyone’s guess. (On second thought, it’s better we leave that one to my shrink.) Hoci is an elegant and delicate dress. The black skirt features an overlay of lace. The neck, sleeves and waist are adorned with long wavy fingers of black fringe. The dress itself is mesh and only comes in one size, so you should try the demo. In order to fit the mesh outfits from Angels and Demons Creations, I find that I have to make Portia a bit slimmer and less büby. As the saying goes, what scales down must pump up. (In other words, my next post will make you think you’re wearing 3-D glasses.)

Oh my stars!

MIASNOW’s Truth is back today. She looks so sullen in a sugar-skull skin that I couldn’t pass up the chance to dress her all spooky (as you’ll see if you visit the Pleisure Flickr). Then I had to make her all floofy in LpD’s heavenly delight, the MyStar dress.
